Celebration of Grassroots Organizing
A lobster picnic to fund Boston's movements for justice and liberation: 15 organizations on the frontlines of Boston’s movements for racial, economic, and climate justice come together each summer to pause and share in the joy and abundance of our community.
Each year RG Boston is the biggest sponsor for the Celebration. We have TWO tables at each seating (1 pm and 5 pm) so please join us! We encourage RG Boston members to attend and you can use the code RG26 at checkout to make sure that your donation counts towards our $50,000 commitment to this rad event! (You have to add your donation in the donation box because the ticket will be “free”).

Event Details:
The event will be split between two seatings: 1 PM and 5 PM.
Accessibility: The event is on a lawn. When purchasing a ticket, you’ll have a chance to indicate if you have limited mobility so that we can seat you close to the entrance.
Language justice: Spanish interpretation will be available

House-ing Party for Rent Control
Join us for a rent control house party + art build! We will be making posters, designing bags and shirts, completing housing maps, and more! We will also be discussing the campaign, collectively raising funds, and co-creating strategy to win big!
If you’re thinking “oh that sounds cool, but there will be probably a bunch more events down the line that I could go to instead…” then SNAP OUT OF IT because this will be our biggest event this spring—i.e.. this is the one to go to. You don’t need to be artistic; all skill levels are welcome.

Campaign Launch and Transformative Fundraising Training in Solidarity with Mass for Rent Control
Curious to know what it takes to be a successful fundraiser? Want to learn about why fundraising builds fundamental organizing skills? Wonder how fundraising can be more than transactional, even transformative? Take the first step toward empowering yourself and others in your community through our upcoming fundraising training on Wednesday, April 8, from 7-8:30 PM.
We will introduce you to a spectrum of fundraising tactics before exploring the world of transformative fundraising. Join our training and help kick off our RG Boston for Rent Control Campaign to raise $100k in 100 days! These funds will primarily support a month-long robust digital campaign, as well as field advertising and campaign infrastructure to activate voters. Register HERE for our campaign launch!

Now-April: Time to put pressure on the State legislature to pass rent control legislation in the State House, and time to prepare for the next phases of the ballot campaign (which will be a second round of signature collection, and mass voter outreach)!
We are continuing to push at the State House for legislation at the same time as the ballot campaign – because the legislature still has time to pass legislation for rent control. Two different routes for winning rent control, and we’re pushing both at the same time!

May-June: Second round of signature collection and continued pressure on the legislature to pass rent control legislation.
July-November 3: Mass voter outreach.
November 3, 2026: Election Day! If we are on the ballot, this is when voters across Massachusetts will vote on passing statewide rent control.
